About the Cultuurfabriek
Cultural Platform
The Cultuurfabriek is a platform committed to creating a rich cultural life in Voorschoten. Through our platform, we strive to connect providers of cultural activities and to help them promote their initiatives among the Voorschoten public. It is our belief that to participate in cultural activities, both as a visitor and as a participant, improves growth, development, and happiness. We actively contribute to this belief by organizing activities.
Members
It is possible to become a Cultuurfabriek Voorschoten member. Both cultural organisations and private persons who wish to contribute to culture in Voorschoten can obtain membership. Members can contribute to our vision and our activities in various ways. For example, by representing their own vereniging during activities, or by taking a seat on the board or in one of the workgroups.
Organisation
As an organisation the Cultuurfabriek is a vereniging (assosiation) with members, workgroups, and a board.

Members of the board are elected by the Cultuurfabriek members.

Workgroups
Various workgroups are active Within the vereniging. Members of these workgroups are made up of regular members and board members. Together they organize and execute the Cultuurfabriek activities.

History of the Cultuurfabriek
The Cultuurfabriek Voorschoten was formed out of the ‘‘Netwerk muziekorganisaties Voorschoten’. At the time there was a strong desire among the musical organisations within Voorschoten to work together more closely. In 2017, at the initiative of Eveliene Schoenmakers and Rini Teunissen the 1st Cultuurmarkt was realized during the Weekend van Voorschoten. At the same time a brochure containing the coming year’s cultural activities was published. This was the first Seizoensbrochure that has since moved online on the Cultuurfabriek website and the Cultuuragenda [hyperlink: https://www.cultuurfabriekvoorschoten.nl/cultuuragenda/] Early 2018 Eveliene and Rini approached other cultural organisation within Voorschoten to invite them to join the network. This led to the birth of the Cultuurfabriek Voorschoten platform in the spring of 2018. The Cultuurfabriek further developed in order to connect the different cultural organisations of Voorschoten with one another and to represent their interests on occasion. As of July 2019 the Cultuurfabriek has officially become a vereniging (association) with members.
